Questions Re GN Branch In Spokane Area

As much as people have been bad-mouthing Trainorders.com here lately, I find myself in the embarrassing situation of having to make a reference to it. I draw your attention to the post in the Nostalgia & History category, and the entry dated October 17 at 10:35 entitled "Past and Present Alta Loma, CA". Note the last graphic, that really slick aerial photo with an abandoned railroad super-imposed over it.

Could someone create something similar of the Spokane area that would illustrate where the GN's branch that ran between Spokane and Colfax / Moscow exited the city? I think it was abandoned back in the late 50's, but I've kinda been curious as to where the ROW was. I imagine most of it has been obliterated by urbanization since then.

With the hills on the south side of Spokane, I would guess it pretty much followed the NP or UP-MILW alignment out of town. Or did it have another route entirely?

Are there any books that have pictures of trains along this section of track?

Any info would be appreciated . . .
