Donner . . Upper and Lower Cascade Bridges

A few of us railfans have been debating the appropriate designation of the Donner bridges at MPs 186 and 186.7, commonly referred to as The Cascade Bridges. E.g., which is which ? An older track chart designates the westernmost, at MP 186, as Upper Cascades, which is actually lower in track elevation than the one at 186.7. It does cross the runoff from the formally designated Cascades Lakes though, whereas the easternmost crosses the runoff from Kidd Lake. But if you follow the contour lines of these lakes, both appear to have an elevation very close to 6600 feet. Do any of you have any input into this chart designation, as it appears contrary to common sense. Thanks.
