When we used to move 737 fuselages on the WP in the late 80s, they were considered to be high-wide loads that needed special handling (they still are). We had done some work on one of our tightest tunnels (rock-lined) on the Highline and hadn't run the "clearance checker" yet. They had the roadmaster ride the car through at less-than-walking speed while he held a spotlight to check some of the close rocks. One dent or scratch was considered "fatal", which is why they are wrapped in plastic--no damage to the saran wrap equals a clean movement and everybody smiles.
