Remembering the "Med Flyer" (or "Moon Beam")

I believe the "Med Flyer" started up in 1981. I certainly recall the helicopters spraying melathion over Santa Clara Valley for Mediterranean fruit flies---hence the name.
I rode it a few times in coach and in a roomette between San Jose and L.A. Fun train! Even used it to reach Sacramento for daytrips from San Jose.

Whatever happened to Jerry Brown's transportation czar, Adriana Gianturco?
