I assume this thread refers to proposals to replace San Diego Trolley's original fleet of Siemens-Duwag U-series cars, which are almost 30 years old.

If this is the case, I would think they would purchase more Siemens S70 "Avanto" cars, as they did when they opened the Mission Valley East extension in 2005. These cars have a low-floor center section.

TriMet here in Portland recently added 22 of these cars to its MAX fleet for its own system expansion.
