Just what do you expect -- It was a bus - just a freakin' smelly bouncy bus!

If you haven't noticed yet, in the last 40 years, nearly all rail startups that replaced busses, have started day one with nearly three times as many riders than the day before with the busses. And it only increases from there!

Oh - and then there is the depression/recession, that has even the traffic on the freeways lightened up considerably. Some places don't even back up at the at the peak anymore. All traffic is still way down - across the board 10% to 20%.

Even freight traffic is still sharply down according to AAR weekly stats - 20 to 25 percent below last years weekly stats. And those were 10% to 15% below the year before that. All economic activity is way down - still!

In this economic climate, the phrase "Declining Ridership" scarcely has any real meaning, except perhaps the for need to follow the shrinking economy, and shrink service levels to match.

Of course, the phrase "Declining Ridership" might still mean everything to one who pretends pro-transit attitudes, but in truth, is actually opposed to all public transit whatever.

In times like these, it means no such thing to anyone else!
