Apparently there was a fire in the CZ consist while it was being cleaned in the Oakland yard 01/02-01/03. Several cars were involved. As a result, #5 was annulled in Reno in order to become #6. Five buses were sent to Reno to pick up #5's passengers, and seven buses were used to transport the passengers to #6. The bus I was driving from Reno did Martinez and Emeryville, then I took the crew to the Oakland base. From the freeway I couldn't see any damage to the consist, no burned through marks, scorching, etc. No stories in the Oakland Tribune or San Francisco Chronicle.
