C&O's "Chessie" returns?

If you happen to work for the Wakayama Electric Railway Co (a passenger carrier in Japan), your boss may be a cat. The cat had been a stationmaster for several years, but has done such a great job, it was recently to a corporate executive position.

KINOKAWA, Wakayama -- The cat stationmaster of a railroad station here has been promoted to a corporate executive of the Wakayama Electric Railway Co., the company has announced.

The train operator has promoted 10-year-old female cat Tama, currently a stationmaster of Kishi Station on the Kishikawa Line, to the post of operating officer in recognition of her contribution to expanding the customer base.

And lest you think this is just the media filling space, below is the railroad's corporate site. You don't have to be able to read Japanese to see they are using the cat to the max.
