Niles Canyon Railway Steamfest II

The Pacific Locomotive Association is proud to announce tickets for Steamfest II. PLA’s own Quincy Railroad Company #2 and Robert Dollar #3 will host three guest steam locomotives on the Niles Canyon Railway. Planned participants include Roots of Motive Power’s Mason County Logging #7, California State Railroad Museum’s Granite Rock Company #10, and for one day only Golden Gate Railroad Museum’s Southern Pacific #2472.
The first photographers special will coincide with the annual Winterail swap meet in Stockton. This special on Sunday March 14th will depart Sunol at 8:45am for Niles. On the return trip to Sunol both the passenger and freight trains will perform numerous run-bys. The train should return to Sunol around 12:30. Tickets prices for this event are $50, seating is limited.
Steamfest II will officially kick off on Saturday March 20th. This will be the big event with four steam locomotives pulling passenger and freight trains between Sunol and Niles. The locomotives will inlcude Robert Dollar #3, Quincy Railroad #2, Granite Rock #10, and Mason County #7. Various ticket packages are available for this day.
Steamfest II will continue on Sunday March 21st. Sunday’s event is open to the public with special bargain fares and frequent departures from Sunol and Niles between 10am and 3pm. Tickets for these trains will only be available for purchase at Sunol and Niles Depots on March 21st.
