I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. The Modesto and Empire Traction is still one of the most interesting surviving shortlines in California Railroading in the 21st century. But, I will miss the old power.

Photo One: Modesto and Empire Traction SW1500 1500 works near Yosemite Blvd. and Mitchell in Modesto, CA on March 31, 2008. This engine is former SP 2491.

Photo Two: At Beard Industrial Park in Modesto, CA Modesto and Empire Traction SW1500 1500 works near Stanislaus Food Products on March 31, 2008.

Photo Three: Modesto and Empire Traction SW1500 1500 waits for work near Stanislaus Food Products in Modesto, CA on March 31, 2008.
