I remember that! Dan was an SP switchman, as I remember, he worked with my dad (SP Engineer Lloyd Sloan) at Ozol. I have an autographed copy of Dan's book Pacific Coast Shay. I have movies of the shay working at Rio Vista on that day. It was the first time I had ever seen a shay operate.

Very cool, yes those were the days.
