I visited Guadalcanal a couple of years ago and found a really old tech boiler house running a palm oil process, they had some operating reciprocating steam engines still going.
There was a lot of this equipment when I first went to work at the Std. Oil Refinery in Richmond, but most of it disappeared over the years. Too bad, a lost part of the mechanical age.
