SP Santa Ana Branch Question (w picture)

This set of light engines came down to La Mirada on Aug, 1985 and met the Hauler that I posted a couple days ago.

My memory was that they had passed each other somewhere (which must have meant the Hauler had already passed by the time I took this shot, as it's single track where I'm standing).

My question to the SP gentlemen on the list... what was this run? It can't be a Hauler, it has not cars. It's a bit over powered to be the Buena Park local job coming back from work, right? Or is that what it is (I would have thought that would have had SW1500s at that time).

Or is is it a power move, bringing new power to Anaheim or Beuna Park? (Again, wouldn't it have had SW1500s then, not this kind of Hauler power? -- there's a lot of six axle power in that mix.)
