The siren on the tamper is a warning device to alert others around the immediate area that the tamper is getting ready to move, and also it is used at crossings to alert people and cars that it is going to cross.
The gang on the "Express" is off right now, but when they return they will work their way west UP north) on the Alhambra side, and once into the Los Angeles area they are to come back the LA side and continue back towards West Colton and then out the Sunset and working towards El Paso, Texas.
