As a Western Pacific official my father-in-law always carried a concealed weapon, renewing the permit annually at the Contra Costa County Courthouse in Martinez. He never knew what he might run into between Oakalnd and Oroville when out on the road. But that was then. Guess that sort of thing is frowned upon these days????
