Actually even though I have been foaming since about 1972 I have not made a lot of trips to the hill, maybe a dozen to 20 over that period. I always went to the FRC. So, the hill is almost new to me. I went with my friend Ken Compton and his son Zach last weekend. He knows the hill better than I do. I figure with what is going on in the FRC I had better learn the hill!

I had a great time. We saw 18 trains in 2.5 days (not counting what we missed or what went trough at night!) Eight of those were eastbounds and 10 were westbounds. Compared to how dead the hill used to be in the late SP period this is amazing.

I am looking forward to going back. I looked for a railfan guide to donner - did not find one.

Hmmmm....
