We we once used the hostler controls on a DD-35 to switch out dead engines in a consist at the Taylor Roundhouse "turnout', using the hostler controls at the walkway in the center. Rollin Robert's didn't think it was safe running throught the "tunnel" (in the middle of the DD-35) to look for signals, and then back to the controls, since you could see around the "nose", and told us to cut it out!

Unlike double stack articulated well cars. this is one Kneiling's ideas that didn't make the cut?
