I saw this quartet in the deadline at Eugene sometime back in the 1980's. Can anyone give us a brief history of these interesting units, and why they didn't work out for SP? The Sulzer engines are interesting, having had very successful application in the marine industry. Wonder if it's the same story as the opposed-piston FM engines, which didn't work so well in railroad application but did in marine applications. What about the English Deltas? Did they have a similar story?
