I think that they were originally purchased quite some time ago... maybe when the only line was downtown to TJ.

Didn't the San Diego Trolley also have a set of Lackawanna MU cars at that point too? I have this vague memory (everything from the 1980s is vague) of seeing Lackawanna MUs in the yard in SD.

Wonder what became of them? I know that the museum in Campo has some, but I'm pretty sure that they bought those direct from New Jersey Transit.
