1982 Images of the Shops

Back in the late 1970s and early 1980s (when I moved to California in 1984), the Elizabethport shops were a wide open, railfan friendly smorgasbord of amazing relics.

This image is three years later than the E8 shot I last posted, but that E8 is the second unit, with this other derelict Penn Central E8 sitting among some monster sized cans of Valvoline.

And here are some switchers and a GEEP with a nice facade view of the Shops building. Note that Conrail paint job, which at most was five years old.
