Coal along the Wentachee
Author: Steve Carter

As the Wenatchee river flows down out of the Cascade mountains, it passes an area that transitions from the heavily forested mountains west of Leavenworth, to the rolling hills hills near Cashmere. Here too, the railroad has found a path on it's way east. Between Dryden and Peshastin is a nice spot to watch a train roll along the river. While trying to catch a loaded grain train traversing Steven's pass, an empty coal train entered the scene with the best lighting of the day.

Enjoy!

A train runs through it
