I noticed a lot of the Oakways ended up with S3's in later years.

The K3's don't seem to hold up too well on the UP. Many have died out to varying degrees. Probably not too unexpected with the electro-pneumatic ones mounted on the hood, but also with the straight pneumatic ones on the cab roof. Then there was the one on a GP38-2 that sounded like a European whistle; an inspection revealed that someone had stuffed paper towels in the large bell.
