CORP's New Locomotives

The next time you’re at a rail crossing in Roseburg, Oregon you just might happen to see some of the newer locomotives that have been brought into Douglas County.
Central Oregon & Pacific Railroad has leased a number of newer GP-20 D locomotives that are being delivered to the railroad this week.
The new blue colored locomotives with the CEFX markings will slowly replace the well used red & grey EMD GP-38’s that have operated along the rail line.
The newer locomotives are more fuel efficient than older GP-38’s and come equipped with air conditioning.
So far none of the spotted locomotives have the Central Oregon & Pacific name inscribed on them, but that could change soon. Also no word yet from company officials if the new locomotives will be repainted in CORP’s red & gray colors.
