Thx for kind responses.. No book will be written. == Since no one mentioned the SLG&W pushing Pullmans foto posted last wk ,wondered if anyone would be interested in the SN notes. Here are some odds and ends.== When Art Lloyd had a birthday party at his folks home in S.F. Was it mid 1941?, Eldon Lucy surprised all by producing a regular appearing black and white SN public tt.. Perhaps some SN fans have one. But it featured an "extra", the upcoming last thru passenger excursion with 6 cars to Sacto inc.the Bidwell. A 7th car was added byd making its next stop in Swanston where it ended up on a sweeping half circle curve into a dry fld of weeds to where Lumber Jack was blt yrs later. It also went to Thermolito. Many fans ran on down the track to see the flood ruined remains of the Oroville bridge before the train returned to the main and on to Chico. Of course with this delay the planned schedule fell all apart. SN books feature photos of that trip and would reveal the exact date. Of course Ralph Demoro was there with little Harre ++++++++++++ Riding the CCT st car to Colonial Heights cost 5 cents. From the car terminated just off Sktn Blvd. there was nothing but open fields where later came the Sacto Army Depot and huge industrial park. The track just went its lonely way to the SP overcrossing.. == Some time back someone inquired here about the fair grounds CCT spur... It ran the full length of the south side of the grounds and a pix is available somewhere of a main line steam road race horse car sitting on it. Incidently there also exists a photo somewhere of a small ocean going steamship tied up at the old Riverboat..NE terminal when the river was at flood stage...before the dams.... ===== CCT 202 was a work horse before the eastern express motors were acquired. Interestingly it retained about four passenger car seats for the crew. +++++++ Riding he NWP-P&SR excursion before WW I. On the P&SR the four borrowed open ended NWP commute cars were pulled by a frt mtr to Two Rocks and Santa Rosa.. Interestingly, when trying to leave the end of track ..also a semi circle in a pocket at Forestville.. even tho yrs earlier there was a portable sub in box car permanently stationed there.....it may not have been functioning because the motor couldn't climb the short steep grade out of the pocket. Solucion?.. fans unloaded and pushed...
