Eugene ~ National Train Day

Eugene probably can't compete with what Portland is offering, but there will be a National Train Day event at the Amtrak station there too. A few speakers and writer/photographer D. C. Jesse Burkhardt will be there to sign copies of his railroad books, including the "coffeetable" color photo book "Freight Weather." Also he'll have "Railroads of the Columbia River Gorge" and "The Ann Arbor Railroad," as well as his recent travel-adventures.
If you bring in any of his books previously purchased, he will be glad to sign those as well.
Not sure if there are any equipment displays that day...but remember it's not only Portland that is celebrating!
