I wonder if it is blocked because it is known to be a website that is "Not work related".

Actually, many companies deliberately block BLOG sites, which this appears to be. The place I work at also blocks Photo websites and Youtube, and almost all newspaper forums.

I suppose they don't want people blogging on company time - or something like that. Also, someone told me once that companies are being held liable in court, for anything illegal done on their PCs, such as swapping music files; or even downloading dirty pictures, which gets them in hot water with the E.E.O.C. - will get you fired quick where I work!

Altamont Press probably appears to be an ordinary commercial website (which it is) and so slips by.
