Hero Worship in the Hobby

There are many nice people in our hobby and some that have gained a degree of fame. Taking fine photographs or writing a well-reseached book or article are achievements of a sort. However laudable those achievements are, they are no excuse for poor manners, grumpiness, or condescending behavior. A few fans let it go to their head. A few worship the ground they walk on. It's just a hobby. There are several BIG NAMES but very few real heroes in it. I don't let the BIG NAMES rule or ruin my activities, like the guy who once proclaimed: "Get out of the way! I'm a professional."
