While on my way down to the Potomac I was finally able to locate the rarely photographed
Western Maryland K-2 Pacific #202. She's one of only 2 WM survivors, the second being the well known Shay at Cass in WV. This engine is located in Hagerstown, MD in City Park and was a donation to the "children of Hagerstown, MD". The engine sits cosmetically restored in superb shape and there are hopes by a select few in bringing her back to steam. For now, she's under a canopy and locked up behind a fence when the park is closed.
Rarely seen, I assume due to either the location or more likely, the difficulty in photographing - under a canopy with a small window for good light.
Thursday morning was good - enough clouds to avoid the harsh shadows!
Enjoy! Additional info under photo remarks.
