Probably the shortest lived tourist rail operation was Labor Day weekend 1971. A group of PLA members operated Pickering #7 from Lyons Lake down to Tramway, near Twain Harte. The track above Lyons was gone and the track down to Standard had been severed by highway construction on Highway 108. Tom Mongovan can probably provide better detais than I but I did come across these four photos from that weekend. I cannot believe I only shot these but, at the moment, I can't locate the others.
AT LYONS(I think)
Tramway (I hope)
