Southern Pacific's 16th Crossing of the Sacramento river has a date of 1901 on it. This bridge is located at Mossbrae Falls, about a 1/4 mile south of Shasta Springs. there is a walkway on the east side of the bridge with a great view of the river and falls. The bridge is located a few miles north of Dunsmuir and you can access it by walking up the SP mainline about a Mile and a half. (Yeah, I know it is now UP) just be careful of on coming trains. just did the walk last month. Beautiful walk. See page 34 of "Southern Pacific Shasta Division by John Signor"
