AOE at Santa Clara

Here's a couple of old Kodachromes of the American Orient Express. Amtrak 830 heads the special westbound at Santa Clara, California in August of 1996. Bringing up the rear is the ex-New York Central observation car, that was a signature of every run of the AOE. Sadly the AOE has since disbanded, and many of the cars have scattered to different owners.
