Apache MLW C424 has just crossed the Little Colorado River as it leaves Holbrook, Arizona, the afternoon of August 5th, 2010. The locomotive was built in December of 1965 for CP Rail as their #4233 The southbound train is on its way to Snowflake after making up its train in Holbrook and has just cleared the yard limits and the engineer is throttling up as they start the climb out of town.
This day had seen Ben and I get our first chase of an Apache train and a not to pleasant conversation between me and a Navajo County Deputy Sheriff.
Enough smoke Ted?
