Edward--
Many years ago, I worked with the late Vic Shattock at West Oakland in the Water Service Dept..
He was my foreman. We both knew your Father "Ed" very well. Vic used to build scale model live steam locomotives. In 1955, your Father made a film about the Western Division "safety picnic" that SP held for its employees in Crow Canyon Park in Castro Valley, CA.
On part of that 16mm film, your Father captured an action view of a steam-powered miniature SP freight train that was operating in Redwood Regional Park.
When the film was eventually shown to SP Officers, so we were told by your Dad, they wanted to know where the film of the SP freight train was taken. They had Ed run it again, before they would believe it was only a model. I think it was Vic's grandson who was searching for that film about six years ago, but as far as I know, it was probably lost.

Regarding all of SP's films in the old A-V Department-- a lot of us heard that Michael Clayton of Pentrex Films in Pasadena got all of those and not the UPRR museum. Mr. Clayton even boasts that he had five Bekins moving trucks handy to clean the old offices out.
Many thanks for letting us hear from you.

Henry
