Guess there's more than one "Grand Canyon of the East>' Near Wellsboro, PA is another Grand Canyon of the East. The NYC's Fallbrook Line used to follow Pine Creek at the bottom of the canyon. It is now a very nice rail trail.

Not far from Wellsboro is Wellsboro Junction out of which the Tioga Central tourist train operation is based.
