A casual glance at a Washington state railroad map shows that at one time, the Palouse region was laced with tracks. I'm aware of some of the abandonments; my 1st question is : Is the line West of Pullman the last one left in the area ??? Are any potential customers left on the line ??? Or is it important to overall rail traffic in the area ??? Forgive my ignorance but I don't automatically buy into the Foamer opinion that ALL rail lines must be saved.
