The boxcar marooned at Isleton was Great Northern; it was rather interesting, being a 40-foot double-door car. During the mid-70s, Western Railway Museum members came over and traced the GN goat emblem in order to make a stencil to paint the emblem on their GN wooden caboose. The Georgiana Slough drawbridge remained intact in raised position, with semaphore signals on either side, although the track from there to Isleton was removed. There was still electrical power to the bridge for lighting, as it was a navigable waterway. I don't know when the bridge was removed, but I think it was the early 1980s. The grade to the north end of the bridge was cut down to ground level so the farmer there could have a continuous field. I went out there around 1990, and there was no trace of bridge or grade to be seen.
