Re: Deming, NM area branch line questions

The lines running North from Deming, NM., are ex - Santa Fe; serving copper mines in Hurley & Santa Rita.( Santa Fe once had a line parallel to Espee from El Paso West to Deming.) I don't about current operations.
The line that paralleled the Espee Sunset Route between Tucson & El Paso was the El Paso & Southwestern. This line, once independent ( Phelps Dodge I believe ??? ), was bought by Espee in the 1930's.
