I'd like the new format to provide the following features the old one had:

1. Ability to determine if there are any new posts on a thread since one most recently visited the site. (With the current new format, the only way one can do that is to keep a separate record of some sort by one's screen of the number of replies, and then each time one visits the site compare the previous number of replies to the current number of replies.)

2. Ability to see, at a glance, who has posted on a thread, in case one prefers to read only the postings of certain trusted/respected sources. (With the current new format, the only way one can do that is to scroll through all the posts.)

I'd also like to see some sort of table of contents to the daily "Rail News" posting, so that one can tell easily if there are any items of interest included. I've stopped reading it since it takes so long to go through it, item by item, skipping the topics I'm not interested in (depot restorations, paint schemes, on-time statistics, etc.) in order to find topics I do want to read (derailments, new track construction, unusual loads/equipment, etc.)
