Don Duke passes

I just learned from another board that photographer/publisher Don Duke passed away last Monday.
He was 81. Don was one of the remaining old school photographers and accorded himself well.
Many will remember his publishing business Golden West and the large number of books that are out there today because of him. When I was a teenager, I wrote him and asked if I could please have some photos of my favorite railroad and he responded by sending me an 8 by 10 of everything that he had in his file. I still have them all today.
Don traveled with the late John Hungerford on a number of occasions and one of those jaunts was a memorable trip to the Nacozari on January 1-2 of 1958 to catch engine 3406, a leased SP 2-8-0. John managed to get Don to pose a couple of times with his Speed Graphic (forgive me if I'm wrong on the exact model of camera).
I shall always remember him well.
