Interesting photo. The 3489 was involved in a wreck in 1970. From this image the 3489 looks okay. It was retired 4/1/70 and sold 4/30/70 to Ge. They sold it to Naporana Iron & Metals. It was leased 1/13/71 to Clinchfield RR. In 4/72 it went to Illinois Central Gulf; rebuilt 5/73 to GP8 #7970.
