Thanks for posting that, Charles. I lived in Torrance near Artesia and Van Ness for nearly two years, back in the late 1990's and only once was I able to get a few slides! It was towards the end of the line where they were switching some type of recycling facility that took boxcars. I could hear them pretty often, but something always seemd to prevent me from getting more. Anyway, it was a pretty good place to live. Any traction bonds left? There used to be quite a few easily found if you looked south/east past Farmer Bros. Coffee.
