Coast Line and Tacoma!

A run on the Coast Line and an appearance at the 2011 NRHS Convention in Tacoma are not necessarily incompatible. The train could be routed to Los Angeles, then up the Coast Line to Oakland and then from Oakland to Portland and then from Portland to Tacoma. Or it could do the reverse. In fact, such an routeing could bring back the pre- and post-NRHS Convention trips which were common up through the 1990s.

I don't know if UP has a line between Portland or Tacoma or if this would require trackage rights on BNSF.
