Rethinking can be a very good thing. I'd just like to see it happen with the CHSRA.

Apparently Richard Branson has taken an interest in the Florida hsr, but not so far in the California project. I'd like to see how his people would rate the profitability potential of the current CHSRA scheme, and in particular, what they think of the Tehachapi detour.

The CHSRA cheerleaders think the delay is only a matter of a few minutes but I think it would be more on the order of a half hour if you combined Tejon semi-base tunnels with an I-5 racetrack and no stops before Livermore.
