Metrolink is calling its new stainless steel fleet of crash technology cars the Guardian Fleet. No additional stations are scheduled for a brief, three day public tour of them, locations noted below. Today's consist, all in the new paint scheme: 879, 876 (facing forward), 214, 212, and 638, left Track 3's bumper post promptly at 9:10 am with VIPs only. The plan once all cars are delivered is to place one of each type (cab/straight coach) at each end of every consist.
The long-idled New Jersey Transit cars have finally entered Metrolink revenue and work is nearly complete on a layover Keller [St.] Yard on the west bank immediately south of Mission Tower.
