I received a Lionel freight train set for Christmas of 1959. It had one of those never-produced-in-real-life 2-6-4 steam locomotives! I still have the set.
One Christmas while visiting my parents in Albuqurque, I gave myself the present of riding the D&S ng train to Cascade Canyon. The snow was deep. We hit a small snow slide on the return leg and the locomotive really bucked going into it.
Oh yes, I did receive a nicely framed Fred Harvey/Santa Fe menu one Christmas. It dated from the first decade of the 1900s.
