Man struck and killed by train near Hope, Idaho

SPOKANE -- A man sitting on some train tracks was struck and killed by a train near Hope, Idaho early Thursday morning.

Jeffrey Kiebert, 49, of Hope was killed when he was struck by an eastnound Montana Rail Link Train at approximately 1:45 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators with the Idaho State Police say that the incident was probably a suicide attempt and alcohol was a factor.
