You're spot-on, Rick. If there really had been "authorities" with him and he took off into the woods at night in Arizona, they would have chased him. An overweight, 65-year-old "drunk" man couldn't really get that far, IMO. Oops! I forgot...Mr. Sims is BLACK. Arizona is one of the Jim Crow holdouts. That's why the man's family had to beg for the Sheriff's assistance. Reprehensible.
