This WP sign was recently donated to the Niles Depot museum in Fremont, CA, but we are unsure about what is was used for. The donator was fairly sure it was from the WP Railroad, but he was not sure of its use.
We are guessing that it may have been used in a large station serving more than one railroad such as Salt Lake City -- perhaps directing passengers to the proper area of the station.
The reason for that guess is because it is made of fiberglass. The printed side is bumpy, sort of like cottage cheese. Being fiberglass, it probably was not used outside. We have not been able to find any photos of this sign or even this style of WP logo.
Does anybody here know how this sign may have been used, or if it is even a Western Pacific sign?
