To quote the late Paul Harvey "In the for what it is worth department..." a call to Empire this afternoon yielded the following information. First, word seems to be the closure will be permanent. Probably two or three more trips to Gerlach hopefully (their words not mine) finishing up by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. They are not sure which days they will run so driving up there would be somewhat of a crapshoot. A 700 mile roundtrip? Maybe. Now if I was 30 years younger....
