Originally built for Twin Cities Rapid Transit in 1949 as their #417, NJT #28 was still earning its keep on Newark, New Jersey's #7 City Subway Line. Seen at the Franklin Ave turn around, the car is ready to return to Penn Station in downtown Newark. When new equipment arrived on the scene, #28 was sold to the City of Bayonne to be used on a planned heritage streetcar line.

The second photo shows #26 outbound in the Subway itself. #26 would also end up in Bayonne while several of its bretheren would be sold to SF's MUNI.
